approved products. Producers who have only certified organic products can sell

The city
of Izmir has a wide variety of products compared to other cities in the world
in the production of products such as figs, citrus, animal husbandry, olive
oil, beans, aromatic and medicinal plants, winemaking, various flowers, and
honey products. Izmir is one of the most important cities in Turkey in terms of
crop production, with favorable weather, rich water resources, and
biodiversity.
28.5
percent of the Izmir area is occupied by agricultural land. Of the 3,440,224
hectares, 41.1 percent of it is arable land, 28.3 percent is olive, 11.5
percent is vegetable, 9.2 percent is the fruit, and 9.9 percent is the orchard.
Taking into account all of Izmir’s agricultural lands, the sections of Bergama,
Baindir, Odemish, Turbali, Mandres, Kamal Pasha, Seljuk, Tareh, Maneh, and
Kiraz have a more prominent role in this regard.
As of
2018, total agricultural output was 18.9 billion lire, vegetable products 8.1
billion, dairy products 9.3 billion, and aquatic products 1.5 billion.
Success
and quality of Izmir
The Aegean

position throughout Turkey. Izmir is also high in many products in terms of
performance and quality compared to the whole country.
In terms
of crop production, livestock, and aquaculture, in Izmir, crop production
accounts for the largest share of production value and overall share in
production, followed by livestock and aquatic products. Tobacco, olive and

animal husbandry, fishing, food, and beverage exports exported $ 1.24 billion a
year, compared to $ 1.89 billion a year. That’s up from $ 1.31 billion in the
first six months.
Izmir’s
share of agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, food, and beverage exports
was 11.62% year-on-year.

Numerous
